What we collect
Understory Guide does not require an account and does not ask you to submit personal information to use the tools. When you look up a ZIP code, it is used only to return your hardiness zone and is not stored against any identity.
Analytics
We do not run any analytics or tracking script on this site. Our host, Cloudflare, records aggregate server-side request logs (such as page URL and country) as part of serving the site; these are not tied to any identity and we do not combine them with anything else. If we add a visitor analytics tool, we will say so here first.
Advertising & cookies
This site is intended to be supported by advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info.
Affiliate links
We currently publish no affiliate links. If that changes, links to seeds, plants or garden products may earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you, and it will never affect which plants the finder recommends — rankings come from USDA data, not from commercial relationships.
